Tour details
Today you will fly to Shanghai . The tour guide will meet you and accompany you on the fastest train in the world, the Shanghai Maglev, to the Long Yang Station, then aboard the coach and transfer to your hotel for 3 nights.
Begin your tour with a stroll along the Bund, Shanghai’s renowned stretch of riverfront lined with colonial buildings and modern skyscrapers. Later, head to the new district across from the Bund called Pudong to experience the economic boom of China and then visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, a famous landmark of the city, where you get an amazing bird’s eye view of Shanghai. In the afternoon you visit the Yu Yuan Garden, a classical Ming Dynasty garden with pavilions, towers, and terraces then wander the Chenghuangmiao bazaar. Later walk along Nanjing Road, one of the longest shopping streets in China. Tonight you will cruise on the Huangpu River.
Today enjoy Shanghai Disneyland for a full day, The Shanghai Disney Resort is a theme resort by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and is the first Disney park in mainland China and the second in Greater China, after Hong Kong Disneyland. Lunch is by your own arrangement inside the park.
This morning take the bullet train to Beijing with an afternoon tour to visit the Temple of Heaven, a Ming Temple where Emperors performed annual rites essential for the well being of their land, then shopping at the Hongqiao Market.
Today visit Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest city square. From Tiananmen Square, visitors enter the gates of the Forbidden City. This massive complex was the centre of the Ming and Qing dynasties. With almost 10,000 rooms, this remarkable, well-preserved imperial palace is the largest palace in the world. After lunch, you take a trishaw ride around the Hutongs, which are ancient city alleyways, to experience the life of the local people.
The day starts with a journey to the Great Wall of China at the Badaling Section. This is the pride of China and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is one of the most amazing man-made structures. After climbing the Great Wall, you visit the Summer Palace which is the largest and best preserved of all the imperial palace gardens and boasts such delights as the "Marble Boat" and the ornately painted "Long Corridor". Dinner tonight is the famous succulent Beijing Duck Banquet at a local restaurant.
This morning take the bullet train to Xian, the most historical city in China. It was the capital of ancient China for 11 dynasties. Later enjoy an afternoon tour to the Ancient City Wall, where you can ride bikes and view the city. Dinner is a delicious traditional dumpling banquet followed by a spectacular Tang Dynasty Show. You spend 1 night in Xian.
Begin your day with a visit to the legendary army of "Terracotta Warriors". They are found at an archaeological site which so far has yielded some 8000 ancient terra cotta soldiers and horses, each a unique, finely detailed sculpture. After lunch transfer to the airport for your flight back to Australia.
Arrive in Australia in the morning.
