This Round-the-Island Taiwan Seat-in-Coach Tour offers a comprehensive journey through Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural landscapes, and vibrant modern attractions. The adventure begins with key highlights in Taipei City, followed by a visit to the stunning Sun Moon Lake. You’ll then explore the southern gems of the island. As the tour circles Taiwan, you’ll encounter diverse landscapes, experiencing the island’s awe-inspiring terrain and scenic wonders at every turn.
Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to hotel. Overnight in Taipei.
After breakfast, we will take a classic Taipei day tour to explore the city’s iconic historic landmarks and the modern tourist spots. On this tour, you will visit the world-renowned National Palace Museum that houses the largest collection of ancient Chinese artifacts in the world, where the exquisite art pieces will blow your mind; Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, a prominent monument that symbolizes a significant period of Taiwan's history; Lungshan Temple that represents the local religious beliefs and practices; and the famous skyscraper, Taipei 101, that showcases the modern technology and globalization of the city. Of course, there are more to discover that you will just need come to find out. This guided tour unveils the past, present and future of Taipei City. With the help of your tour guide, you will learn more about each attraction that you visit during the tour and discover the city from a different perspective.
Overnight at Taipei.
Today we will drive to Sun Moon Lake which is in the middle of Taiwan and situated 762 meters above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan. Tour will stop at the famous Wenwu Temple, also known as Literature-Warrior Temple, dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, Holy Monk Shrine and Ci En Pagoda. After touring round Sun Moon Lake, check in hotel. Enjoy natural hot spring at the Fleur de Chine Hotel, Sun Moon Lake. You can also enjoy the walking trails, biking, hiking, or boating at the lake. Overnight in Sun Moon Lake.
Check out hotel Your journey continues at Fort Zeelandia, built by the Dutch East India Company during their 38-year rule in Taiwan. Nearly destroyed by the British in the 19th century, it was later restored by the Japanese. Next, stroll along Anping Old Street, Taiwan’s first named street, rich in history and famous for local delicacies like tofu pudding and shrimp rolls. After lunch, visit the bustling city of Kaohsiung. Explore Fo Guang Shan Monastery, home to the towering 36-meter Buddha Amitabha statue. A monk will offer insights into Buddhism, Taiwan's most practiced religion.
Overnight in Kaohsiung.
After a hearty breakfast, head south to Kenting National Park, Taiwan’s first national park, known for its stunning coastal formations, diverse marine life, and tropical climate—a haven for surfers and divers. On day three of your Taiwan tour, visit Maopitou (Cat's Nose), a rock formation resembling a crouching cat, and Chuanfan Rock, which resembles either a ship’s sail or former U.S. President Richard Nixon. Explore the Eluanbi Lighthouse, a Qing Dynasty relic and one of Taiwan’s Eight Views, and take in the panoramic ocean views at Longpan Park. After exploring Kenting, drive along the scenic South Link Highway to Taitung. Spend the night in Zhiben, famous for its hot springs. Relax at Hotel Royal Chihpen, where the soothing carbonate springs are perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. Enjoy natural hot spring at Hotel Royal Chihpen (Zhiben Hot Springs).
After a restful night and a delicious breakfast, your Taiwan tour continues along the pristine east coast, celebrated for its untouched natural beauty. You'll visit some of the region's most breathtaking spots, each showcasing unique geological wonders: Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping, and Fanshuliao. Start at Xiaoyeliu (Fugang Geopark), where striking rock formations, shaped by sea erosion, resemble those at Yehliu in northern Taiwan. Next, explore Sanxiantai, featuring an offshore island connected by a striking cross-sea bridge, a landmark of the East Coast National Scenic Area. Continue to Shitiping, a dramatic sea erosion terrace with cliffs, sea grooves, and potholes formed over millions of years, making it a fascinating geological site. To wrap up the day, enjoy a comfortable train ride from Hualien to Yilan, taking in the scenic views along the way. Overnight in Yilan.
After a hotel breakfast, begin with a visit to the King Car Kavalan Whisky Distillery, renowned globally for its award-winning whiskies made from the pristine waters of the Central and Xueshan Mountain Ranges. Enjoy the rich aromas and distinct flavours as you explore the distillery. Next, head to the National Centre for Traditional Arts, where you can immerse yourself in Taiwanese culture through exhibitions, performances, and hands-on workshops. Explore traditional buildings, watch puppet shows, or try pottery making, experiencing Taiwan's cultural heritage firsthand. Conclude your unforgettable journey with a bus ride back to Taipei City, Check in your hotel in Taipei for 2 nights.
Discover the unique charm of the rural districts along the north and northeast coast of Taiwan. Visit Jiufen Village, a hillside village prosperous in the 1940s that will bring you an old-time vibe with its atmospheric alleys; Yehliu Geopark, known for its unique coastal erosion features, will blow you mind away; Pingxi District, a former mining town that is known for the world-famous "Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival", where you will experience the iconic tradition of flying sky lantern and visit the “Little Niagara Falls” of Taiwan—Shifen Waterfall.
