5 Days Okinawa Delights Tours from the North to the South

We start from the northern part of the island, visit Yanbaru UNESCO World Heritage Site - is a region known for its rich biodiversity, pristine forests, and unique ecosystems. Then on to Kin Town, where is the best place for bird watching; then onto Naha with more to do from the majestic UNESCO world heritage site Shurijo Castle to Ryukyu Glass Village. Okinawa promises an enriching and responsible travel experience through its diverse eco-tourism offerings. Whether you’re exploring underwater worlds, trekking through ancient forests, or engaging with local culture, Okinawa provides opportunities for meaningful and sustainable interactions with nature and heritage.
Today arrive Naha Airport, you are met and transferred to Nago City. Lunch will be served at 100-year-old House, enjoy the well-known Okinawa style pork Agu meal set. We
then go to the world heritage site – Nakijin Castle; as a former gusuku (Ryukyuan castle or fortress) dating back to the 13th century, Nakijin Castle offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history of the Ryukyu Kingdom and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. We also walk around Kijoka village with a Sherpa (local tour guide), visit Bashofu Center, Kijoka community store. Check in at your hotel – Okuma Private Beach & Resort or similar.
After breakfast we depart for Kin Town. Visit Shinkaichi, a town in front of a US military base; then followed by Sake brewery tour of Kin Limestone Cave, Japan’s first old sake brewery. We will also visit Ukka Gaa Spring, “spring of the deep valley,” is a traditional water source for the local community and holds historical importance in the region. Then will go to Taro field and do bird’s watching. Lunch served at Café Chouraku then continue our journey south and stay overnight at Absostay, you could enjoy the Japanese onsen at this hotel. Dinner served as a one-of-a-kind Ryukyu French dinner suing ingredients from local Kin Town.
Today’s visit will be Suri Castle, Naha City First Makishi public market, walking tour of the Tsuboya area. Dinner will be served Teppanyaki, a Japanese style steak BBQ.
Shuri Castle
Shuri Castle was the centre of politics, diplomacy, and culture of Ryukyu Kingdom. Ryukyu Kingdom used to do business with Chinese and have business relation with China. Due to that, Shuri Castle architecture and stone technology combines both China and Japan's. Shuri Castle is now a landmark of Okinawa and one of the most famous tourist spots in Okinawa.
Tsuboya Area
Naha’s Tsuboya Yachimun Street is the epicentre of Okinawa’s pottery traditions. it is also a living testament to Okinawa’s cultural heritage and artistic expression. Whether you're an enthusiast of ceramics or simply curious about Okinawan traditions, a visit to Tsuboya Yachimun Street promises a deep dive into the island’s rich pottery traditions and artistic legacy.
Enjoy your free time in Nana, you could explore more of Naha city at your own pace.
