Upon arrival in Lao Cai you head to a local restaurant for breakfast, followed by a coach trip to the famous markets: Tuesday Coc Ly Fair, Thursday Lung Khau Nhin Fair, Saturday Can Cau Fair, Sunday Bac Ha Fair.
Enjoy watching 6 different minority people (Flower H'mong, Black Dzao, Tay, Dzay, HaNhi and Nung) in their colorful costumes, gathering to buy and sell their homemade products in the festive market. This is the weekly chance for the minorities to meet and share joy and sorrows after the crops, to exchange one another's experience.
Say goodbye to the market and hop on for a boat ride along the Chay River. Treat yourself with moments of finding yourselves smaller in front of magnificent landscapes of the Chay River and lofty mountain ranges. You then head back to your hotel. You have a chance to climb on Ham Rong Mountain, layer upon layer of green ridges fade into the distance, edged by sharp, rocky peaks. You will be able to see various types of flowers and local fruits at the Orchid Garden. Overnight at the Bamboo hotel in Sapa or similar.
This morning, you will have some trekking through the mountainous area. You’ll start with a trek to Lao Chai – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai. You will meet some different minority people H’mong, Zay, red Dzao in their different colorful dresses. After lunch, trekking tour continues from Cat Cat onto Sin Chai (around 4 hours). The villages are beautiful, located right at the foot of Hoang Lien mountain range and inhabited by Black H’mong minority. After dinner, you board an over-night train back to Hanoi (wooden 4 berths/cabin – no shared).
